Lisa Juntunen Roos is a Stockholm based artist born 1988 in Västerås Sweden. Her backround is in textile craft and she acquired her degree in master of fine arts in 2020. Lisa’s artistic journey is characterized by a rich educational background, including studies at Capellagården, Handarbetets Vänners skola, and Konstfack. Besides participation in various exhibitions and commissioned works, such as “Ne Jotka Tulivat Me Jotka Jäimme / Dom Som Kom Vi Som Blev” for the Oxen parking garage in Västerås in 2022. She was also the grant holder of Young Artisan of the year 2023 (Unga Konsthantverkare) and part of the curatorial team behind the exam show 2023 at Konstfack University of arts crafts and design.

Lisa has a special relationship with Northern Finland since her mothers’ family is from Simo and its surroundings. Lisa had only been at the residency a couple of days, but was already visited by many Finnish cousins and aunts. She will be doing personal and historical research in Ii, gathering stories from her relatives and studying the village histories.

Lisa showcased her artistic process and works in the Showroom of KulttuuriKauppila, August 14th – 16th as part of the Evenings of Art & Culture.
