


During the Oulu2026 year we celebrate the Iijoki river and the landscape
in KulttuuriKauppila´s Showroom “Stitching Stories from the Soil” from the 13th to the 16th of August.
An Extraordinary exhibition that showcases artworks from and about Ii. Works from sculptures to photographs and from skulls to fish skins.
Kati Leinonen has been chosen to the residency exchange happening between Kons i Halland and the KulttuuriKauppila Art Center.
We are looking for Art works made by the people of Ii or depicting Ii to be part of the KulttuuriKauppilas Summer exhibition 65+1 Art from Ii.

The municipality of Ii is nominated for "Culture Cradle of the Year" at the Culture Gala, which Yle will broadcast live on November 24, 2023.
Artist Arja Kärkkäinen's Primavera is a sitting wall, i.e. a low sittable sculpture which surface imitates the melting of ice in the Ii river.
We are looking for artists for residency programs for 2024 and 2025.
The newly launched artist-in-environment –program introduces artists with a focus on landscape and changes in our environment. The projects deal with the concept of solastalgia, ie. the emotional or existential distress caused by environmental change and land-rights issues.
For the first time in Ii, we will celebrate arts and culture in a unique festival.
This years summer exhibition at KulttuuriKauppila Art Center presents a collection of Anssi Hanhelas’ oil pastels. His works are colourful depictions of a man’s life, topped with sarcasm and black humour.
