Jetta Huttunen (M.A.) has started as the new Executive Manager of Art Centre KulttuuriKauppila at the beginning of the year. Previously Huttunen has worked as the Executive Director of Kattilakoski culture cooperative at Kärsämäki as well as the Producer of the previous Art Ii Biennial in 2018.
’’I am excited about the new position. Ii has a high profile internationally as an art town, and currently Ii is also well-known for its climate work. These two strengths lay a great basis for producing this year’s Art Ii Biennial and developing the programme of KulttuuriKauppila.’’
The responsibilities of Executive Manager will include e.g. the coordinating of the international artist residency and Art Ii Biennial. Local, regional and international cooperation play a key role in the work.
Huttunen names as her first major task the Art Ii Biennial. ’’This year the theme of the Biennial will be earth. We’ll thus be continuing the exploration of elements after the previous Biennial focusing around the theme of water.’’ Huttunen mentions, that also projects by locals built around the theme of earth will be welcomed as part of the Biennial.
