Also the spring residencies of KulttuuriKauppila have been postponed to a later date due to the current situation, but the planning for Art Ii Biennial and the rest of the year continue as normal for now! We are actively following the instructions of Finnish authorities concerning the COVID-19.

The municipality of Ii is nominated for "Culture Cradle of the Year" at the Culture Gala, which Yle will broadcast live on November 24, 2023.
Artist Arja Kärkkäinen's Primavera is a sitting wall, i.e. a low sittable sculpture which surface imitates the melting of ice in the Ii river.
We are looking for artists for residency programs for 2024 and 2025.
The newly launched artist-in-environment –program introduces artists with a focus on landscape and changes in our environment. The projects deal with the concept of solastalgia, ie. the emotional or existential distress caused by environmental change and land-rights issues.
For the first time in Ii, we will celebrate arts and culture in a unique festival.
