Sanna Koivisto’s extensive and versatile production consists of sculpture in bronze, ceramics and blended techniques, drawings, paintings, public monuments and environmental art. Her works portray the changing society around us in a courageous yet sensitive way. Her rejection of war and her desire to protect nature are expressed through her enigmatic pieces of art. A central theme in Koivisto’s production is the way she separates out little people from large masses in order to make manifest the human quality. Koivisto’s art reminds us of the possibility of birth; of being able to grow; of loving and being loved; of belonging to nature and the universe.
