Painted threads – woven pictures

Marja-Liisa Vorne worked with immigrants in Utajärvi in November 2018.

The foundation for the artistic work were photographs important to the participants. Examining the photographs, painting the threads, weaving and discussing the final works created a social event around the process.

Marja-Liisa Vorne is a textile designer (M.A.) specialized on woven textiles. She finds it important to work with open mind, with respect for others and with positive attitude. She hopes that through art we can all grow a little at a time into something new and better.
